The training programmes are composed of theoretical instructions but mainly focus on hands on training.Proper certification of the trainees qualifying different training programme is undertaken .
Under SDC/Tanzeem Lissaail E Wal Mahroom : special training programme 1140 orphan/dispossessed girls/boys were trained in the trades of Tailoring & Garments Making, Plumber, Electrician, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, & motor driving. This programme is offered free of cost and beside certification, stipend @Rs.1000/- per month, sewing machine in case of Tailoring & Garments Making is awarded to every trainee.
Summary of the programme (Trades wise ,No of trainees etc) is reflected in the following graphs
100% of the costs were borne by the funding through Tanzeem together with provision of toolkits and sewing machines after completion of the training programme.
The above programmes provided source of livelihood to the poor and dispossessed. The programme was well received and appreciated by the community.
Training in Special Demand oriented Courses
Under Hunarmand KPK training programme 250 trainees were trained in different trades on subsidized fee.
It was felt that there is a big demand of UPS mechanics in the local market. A course of one month for thirty mechanics was arranged 2011-12.
In order to support informal sector i.e. USTAD-SHAGRID System through provision of training for skill enhancement, The SDC Peshawar under its skill upgrading programme arranged two courses on in the field of RAC at Peshawar. In these courses 50 skilled workers were trained.
Computer Literacy Programme for school boys a short course of 6 weeks was arranged in the month of May/June 2012 at several SDC facilitated institutes in Peshawar. Where -- boys/girls benefited from the course.
Under the RAHA- Refugee Affected and Hosting Areas Skill Training for Afghan refugees affected areas the SDC 80 trainees where trained in the Heavy machinery construction trades in Crane & Dozer operator.
